Community members interested in running for a seat on the Contra Costa County Board of Education (CCCBOE) in the upcoming November election are invited to an information session on Wednesday, July 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ronald L. Stewart Building, located at 77 Santa Barbara Road in Pleasant Hill.
Hosted by the Contra Costa County Office of Education, this event will provide important information for potential candidates about the roles and responsibilities of the Contra Costa County Board of Education (CCCBOE) and a county board member.

There are two CCCBOE Trustee Areas up for election in November: Areas 1, which covers El Cerrito, El Sobrante, San Pablo, Pinole, and parts of Kensington and Richmond; and Area 3, which covers Bay Point, Clyde, Crockett, Hercules, Martinez, Pacheco, Pleasant Hill, Pittsburg, Port Costa, Rodeo, and parts of El Sobrante.
The candidate nomination period runs July 15-August 9, 2024. According to the Contra Costa County Elections Division, if an incumbent does not file by the nomination deadline (August 9, 2024), the seat is extended five calendar days (until August 14, 2024) to non-incumbents only.
